GOAT FARMER:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Goat Farmer to join our team. As a Goat Farmer, you will be responsible for the care and management of our goat herd, ensuring their health, welfare, and productivity. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic farming environment and make a meaningful impact in sustainable agriculture.

Responsibilities:

Herd Management: Provide daily care for the goat herd, including feeding, watering, and monitoring for signs of illness or distress. Maintain accurate records of herd health, breeding, and production metrics.

Breeding and Reproduction: Implement breeding programs to optimize herd genetics and productivity. Assist with kidding and newborn care, ensuring the health and well-being of mother goats and kids.

Facility Maintenance: Maintain clean and well-organized housing facilities, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for the goats. Repair and maintain fences, gates, and other infrastructure as needed.

Feeding and Nutrition: Develop and implement feeding programs to meet the nutritional needs of different goat groups, including does, kids, and bucks. Source high-quality feed and forage, and manage feed storage and inventory.

Health Management: Monitor herd health and implement preventative health measures, including vaccination programs, parasite control, and routine health checks. Administer medications and treatments as needed, in consultation with veterinarians.

Marketing and Sales: Coordinate the sale of goats, including marketing, advertising, and managing customer inquiries. Develop relationships with buyers and maintain customer satisfaction.

 Qualifications:

  1. Proven experience in goat farming or livestock management.
  2. Knowledge of goat husbandry practices, including breeding, nutrition, and health management.
  3. Strong organizational and communication skills.
  4. Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
  5. A passion for sustainable agriculture and animal welfare.
  6. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
